Do you have a heart for empowering young people and a love for the performing arts? Our Christian organization is seeking dedicated volunteers to join our exciting Youth Mental Wellness project!
This unique opportunity combines your artistic talents with making a real difference in the lives of young people. By volunteering, you’ll help us create and deliver a powerful performance-based program that equips youth with:
- Mental health awareness
- Essential life skills
- Confidence building
- Resilience to navigate life’s challenges
Requirements
- Mature Christian 21 – 25 years, able to work with minimum supervision
- Are passionate about youth development and mental well-being.
- Possess a strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people today.
- Have experience in social theater production (theater, dance and movement, song etc.), and ready to take charge of youth projects
- Computer literate and social media marketing savvy, including youtube
- Are available for a 3-month commitment to begin with (September – November 2024).
- Share our Christian values and desire to create a positive and uplifting environment for our youth.
- Understand or wiling to learn about other cultures.
- Have experience working with youth in various settings
- Have a background in youth mission work (prior experience is a plus).
- Are self-funded .
- Are able to obtain a three month travel visa with the possibility of renewing it for an additional 3 months(continuity)
Work responsibilities:
- Take lead of the production
- Script Development: Collaborate with a small team to write a script that addresses real issues faced by young people.
- Skill Development: Participate in workshops and training sessions beginning in September 2024 to develop your skills in working with youth and performance production.
- Create marketing material for production – post
- Mentorship & Support: Work alongside our youth throughout the project (3-month commitment, September – November 2024), guiding them in learning the script, practicing the performance, and fostering a supportive and encouraging environment.
- Performance Production: Be responsible for showcasing, staging and production of the final performance (November 2024).
Work Schedule:
- Flexible work arrangements until the project start in September 2024 (approximately 3 days per week).
- Project work hours will vary depending on specific project needs and length.
- Remote work may be possible for certain tasks.
