Thank you for volunteering with SPHT!  These Terms and Conditions outline the expectations and responsibilities for both SPHT and its volunteers.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Commitment: Commit to the minimum time requirement for your chosen project (typically 3 months).

Availability: Maintain consistent availability according to your agreed-upon schedule.

Performance: Perform assigned duties with diligence and respect for SPHT’s mission and values.

Professionalism: Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor while interacting with staff, clients, and other volunteers.

Confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality of all information obtained during your volunteer service.

Safety: Follow all safety guidelines and procedures outlined by SPHT.

Equal Opportunity: Treat everyone with respect and avoid discrimination.

SPHT Responsibilities:

Orientation: Provide volunteers with an orientation to SPHT’s mission, policies, and procedures.

Training: Offer relevant training opportunities to enhance volunteers’ skills and knowledge.

Supervision: Provide guidance and support to volunteers throughout their service.

Recognition: Acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of our volunteers.

Safe Work Environment: Provide a safe and healthy work environment for all volunteers.

Additional Considerations:

Background Checks: SPHT reserves the right to conduct background checks for certain volunteer positions, especially those involving vulnerable populations.

Insurance: Volunteers are responsible for their own personal insurance coverage.

Termination: SPHT or the volunteer may terminate the volunteer relationship at any time, with or without cause.

Acceptance of Terms: 

All volunteers are required to read and understand these Terms and Conditions before volunteering with SPHT.  By participating in volunteer activities, you are acknowledging your acceptance of these terms.

SPHT Volunteer Service Agreement

This Volunteer Service Agreement (“Agreement”) is made and entered into as of

by and between SPHT, a non-profit organization, with its principal place of business in Karen, Kenya, Nairobi

and

WHEREAS, Volunteer desires to volunteer his/her time and services to SPHT in connection with the [Project Name] project (the “Project”);

NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the foregoing premises and the mutual covenants hereinafter set forth, the parties agree as follows:

1. Services.  Volunteer agrees to volunteer his/her services to SPHT for the Project in accordance with the terms of this Agreement and the SPHT Volunteer Terms and Conditions.  The specific duties and responsibilities of the Volunteer will be outlined in a volunteer job description provided by SPHT.

2. Term.  The term of this Agreement shall commence on [Start Date] and shall continue for a period of [Number] months, unless earlier terminated by either party pursuant to Section 6 below (the “Term”).

3. Supervision.  Volunteer agrees to perform all services under the general supervision of [Name of Supervisor], or their designee, of SPHT.

4. Confidentiality.  Volunteer agrees to hold in confidence all confidential information of SPHT, including, but not limited to, client information, financial information, and proprietary information.  This obligation shall survive the termination of this Agreement.

5. Independent Contractor.  Volunteer is an independent contractor and not an employee of SPHT.  Volunteer shall be responsible for all taxes and social security contributions associated with his/her services.

6. Termination.  This Agreement may be terminated by either party upon written notice to the other party.  This Agreement may also be terminated by SPHT for cause, including, but not limited to, violation of the SPHT Volunteer Terms and Conditions or unsatisfactory performance.

7. Entire Agreement.  This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous communications, representations, or agreements, whether oral or written.

8. Governing Law.  This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Kenya.
