The SPHT Organization is seeking a dedicated African Mental Health Trainer & Coordinator to join our team.  In this vital role, you’ll play a key role in leading and coordinating our African Mental Health First Aid (AMHFA) program.  

By leveraging your expertise and cultural understanding, you’ll contribute to building stronger, more resilient communities across Africa.

Please note – all positions are self funding

What You’ll Do:

  1. Training Leadership: Manage the public and instructor training schedule, overseeing outreach, promotion, and evaluation processes.
  2. Expert Response: Provide expert responses to program questions and inquiries, ensuring clear communication.
  3. Data & Impact: Participate in tracking, reporting, and analyzing program data to measure impact and identify areas for improvement.
  4. Digital Outreach: Post event and training information on websites and social media platforms.
  5. Content Development: Assist with creating and disseminating content for the AMHFA project website and social media.
  6. Material Management: Help develop and distribute training materials to ensure program effectiveness.
  7. Collaborative Planning: Contribute to general program planning initiatives.
  8. Community Training: Conduct AMHFA trainings directly within African communities, fostering mental health awareness.

Duties and Responsibilities

The AMHFA (African Mental Health First Aid) Manager and Trainer will work alongside SPHT Director, in supporting the day-to-day operations of the African Mental Health First Aid training program, including the training in communities. 

You will: 

• Manage public and instructor training schedule including the outreach, promotion, and evaluation processes

• Respond to program questions/queries

• Participate in tracking, reporting and analysis of program evaluation for impact and opportunities

• Post event and training information on websites

• Assist with web content for African Mental Health First Aid project site on SPHT site and social media

• Assist with materials development and distribution

• Assist in general program planning

• Conduct AMHFA trainings in communities
